GREETINGS FROM THE BROOKFIELD AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE!

The Brookfield Area Chamber of Commerce is a vibrant and energetic organization whose  Mission is to not only help develop, promote and protect the Business interests of the City of Brookfield, but to also promote the Civic Interests and general welfare of the Community. By way of the Chamber’s efforts, there are a very wide variety of events, organizations and businesses that make Brookfield, and the surrounding area, a fantastic place to live, work and play!

The Chamber, as it’s affectionately referred to, was founded, and has successfully worked with Brookfield’s business community since 1938. It is governed by an elected nine-member Board of Directors, who, in turn, hire an Executive Director who serves as administrative officer of the Chamber. The Executive Director over-sees the daily operation and all functions of the office and of the organization, including coordinating and managing all directives from the Board, making personal visits to Members and prospective Members, and promoting the Chamber and the Community.

The Brookfield Area Chamber of Commerce is a nonprofit organization made up of over 150 businesses and individuals that are dedicated to the growth and prospering of Brookfield and the surrounding area. Side-by-side with its Member Businesses, the Chamber’s focus is always on ways to help improve the economy of Brookfield and its surrounding area.

The introduction of the Brookfield Bucks program has, in itself, uniquely generated in excess of $50,000.00 in monies redeemed exclusively in our Community. On a daily basis, the Chamber office distributes information to residents, visitors and prospective relocators, wanting information on lodging, rental housing, parks, banks, restaurants, churches, our type of government, real estate agents, even a lady whose family will be visiting here, wanting to know if the City is Pet Friendly.

The Chamber also hosts numerous Community events throughout the year. From Auto Shows, OctoberFests and Concerts to Park Vendor Fairs, Member Banquets and Seasonal Celebrations, the Brookfield Area Chamber of Commerce is a fundamental yet essential part of Brookfield’s identity and growth. We encourage anyone interested in getting involved with the planning and/or implementing of any of our events, to please contact the Chamber. We’ll be happy to speak with you.

For more information on the Brookfield Area Chamber of Commerce, or to inquire about becoming a Member, please call the Chamber office at +1.660.258.7255. You don’t just have to be a business to be a Member of the Chamber. We have numerous Individual Members who want to play a part in the on-going successes of Brookfield. They Care. We Care.

Please Read....An Important Message about the U.S.A. Census.....Please Read
As a Community Service to the residents of Brookfield and the surrounding area, the Brookfield Area Chamber of Commerce would like to remind our residents that there is a nation-wide Census taking place right now, and of the importance of every person and/or family, responding to it.
The U.S. Constitution mandates that the country count its population once every 10 years. The results are used to, not only adjust or redraw electoral districts, but to also be used as a tool in helping to distribute funding for schools, municipalities, socially-based programs, and much more.
Let’s start with some negative and false impressions of the Census, then end with the positives and advantages the Census brings to the citizens of the United States.
Here are the Facts:
*   The 2020 Census does not ask whether you or anyone in your home is a U.S. citizen.
Yes, non-citizens are counted. The 2020 Census counts everyone living in the country, including non-citizens.
*   Your answers cannot be shared with law enforcement and cannot be used against you. The law prevents the Census Bureau from sharing your
information with law enforcement. Your answers cannot be used to impact your eligibility for government benefits. Your answers are only used
to create statistics about our country. The Census Bureau is bound by Title 13 of the U.S. Code to protect your personal information and keep it
strictly confidential. That’s every answer, to every question.
*  The 2020 Census is available online, by phone, and by mail. Online and phone responses can be completed in 13 languages. A paper form will be
mailed to every house that hasn’t responded already when they send out their fourth mail piece.
*   During the 2020 Census, the Census Bureau will never ask you for:
  • Your Social Security number.
  • Money or donations.
  • Anything on behalf of a political party.
  • Your bank or credit card account numbers.
*   Your answers to the Census questions cannot be used to impact your eligibility for any Government benefits, including any potential stimulus
     package.
*   A report alleging a data breach of records that may have originated from the United States Census Bureau, is false.
*   It is not true that individuals posing as workers for the Department of Home Affairs are going door-to-door to check IDs for the 2020 Census.
And now, here are the positives and benefits why each of us should respond to the Census:
*   The Census provides critical data that lawmakers, business owners, teachers, and many others use to provide daily services, products, and
support for us and our community.
*   Every year, billions of dollars in federal funding go to hospitals, fire departments, schools, roads, and other resources based on Census data.
*  Census results guide how hundreds of billions of dollars in federal funding are allocated to programs such as Medicaid, Head Start and block
grants for community mental health services.
*  Census data also helps guide the federal funding of school lunches, highway construction, and education (determining how money is allocated
for the Head Start program and for grants that support teachers and special education).
*  Census results also affect programs for highway planning and construction, Section 8 housing, federal transit, community development, and
rural water and waste disposal systems.
*  Census results also affect programs that support rural areas, restore wildlife, help to prevent child abuse, to prepare for wildfires, and to provide housing assistance for older adults.
*  And did you know that Census data helps communities secure funding for hospitals and fire departments?
And the list goes on with positive reasons why we should respond to the Census.
So when given the opportunity to respond to the 2020 Census, please do so, knowing that you’ll be helping, not only your community, but also everyone who lives, works or plays there too, including yourself.
