Who runs the Chamber?

The government and policy-making responsibilities of the Brookfield Area Chamber of Commerce shall be vested in the Board of Directors, which shall control its property, be responsible for its finances and direct its affairs. 

Board of Directors

Tawnya McLaury, Board President, Owner, Hair Express
This is Tawnya's 5th year serving on the Chamber Board. "This has given me the priceless opportunity to work along side some amazing people and to help serve and give back to our Community". Tawnya and her husband Michael have been residents of Brookfield since 2000. They have 2 sons, Blake and Brock. Tawnya has been the owner and operator of Hair Express, in downtown Brookfield, since 2006. "We are blessed with outstanding support from the community for our small business. I continue to be proud to be able to call Brookfield my home."  

​Tammy Amer, Board Vice President, Missouri Land & Farm ​
Tammy has been a resident of Brookfield since 2003, along with her husband Marc and two daughters, Emily and Paris. She has lived in the Linn County area since 1980, graduated from Linn County R-1 Purdin in 1994, and studied Business and Marketing at Missouri Valley in Marshall.  Tammy has been an active Real Estate Agent for 15 years at Missouri Land And Farm in Brookfield. She’s a member of the Northeast Central Association of Realtors and Member of the Brookfield County Club Ladies Golf.  Tammy enjoys outdoor activities and watching her youngest daughter Paris, who is now 15, participate in sports at Brookfield R-3 and summer sport leagues. She also looks forward to see her oldest daughter Emily’s adventures while she is attending MSU Springfield this year as a Senior. 

Rebecca Klee, Board Secretary, Chariton Valley
Rebeccah is from Mendon, Missouri, and has lived in Brookfield for approximately 4 years…..and loves the town! Rebeccah moved to Brookfield to pursue a career with Chariton Valley Wireless.  She also owns Local Luxuries Boutique.  Rebeccah says that she loves the small town feel and how Brookfield and the surrounding communities come together in good times and in bad.  “I can’t wait to see what the future holds for my family, friends, and everyone in here in Brookfield”.


Anthony Montes, Board Treasurer, FedEx Ground
Anthony enjoys the peace and community of Brookfield, with his wife and eight children. Originally from the Lee's Summit area, Anthony moved to Brookfield in 2010. He is a Board member of the Brookfield Area Growth Partnership and a graduate of the 36/5 Leadership Academy. Anthony is currently the Senior Manager with FedEx Ground. "I look forward to participating and helping with our community."

​Shelbie Alexander, Administrator, McLarney ​Manor
Shelbie is the Administrator at McLarney Manor. She was born and raised in Brookfield and she and her family live on her husband’s family farm outside of town. Shelbie received her AAS Physical Therapy Assistant Degree at Missouri Western State University and her Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration at Colorado State University. She and her husband, Will, have four very busy children, and are members of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Brookfield. “I’m excited to serve The Brookfield Chamber as a Board Member and look forward to being a leader involved in the exciting things this community has to offer!”

Kjersten Parn, Wright Funeral Home
Kjersten (nee Thudium) Parn is a native of Brookfield, graduating in 1999 from Brookfield High School. She then attended Mid-America College of Funeral Service, graduating in 2002 with an Associates Degree in Applied Science and Funeral Service. Kjersten has been employed at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield since 2004. She and her husband Matt live in Brookfield, and have 3 sons, Donavan, Devan and Dylan. Kjersten follows a long tradition of dedicated and passionate members of the Brookfield Community. “Community support is a very big part of our family heritage.  I’m a loyal supporter of the Brookfield School District, the ideals of the Brookfield Area Growth Partnership and the traditions and pro-growth principles of the Brookfield Area Chamber of Commerce.”
 
Holly Stanley, First Missouri Bank 
Holly is originally from Rothville, Missouri and has worked in Brookfield for a many years.  She graduated from Northwestern High School in Mendon.  Holly became a Brookfield resident a little over a year ago.  She is a Loan Administrator at First Missouri Bank and the Director of the After-School Program at the North Central Missouri YMCA.  Holly received two AAS degrees from North Central Missouri College in Trenton and has two bachelor’s degrees from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville. 

Karissa Trentham, Grand River Welding Inst.       
Karissa was born and raised in Brookfield, Mo. And is a 2015 graduate of Brookfield RIII. She continued her education at Northwest Mo State University and Moberly Area Community College. She currently works in the office at Brookfield’s Pigskin Pub&Pizza. In her free time, Karissa enjoys playing with her son Jagger. “My family has lived and worked in Brookfield for over 50 years. We believe this is the best place to live!” 

Angie Talken, Regional Editor, Linn County Leader
Angie is a Jefferson City native, and moved to the Brookfield area in late 2018, when she joined the staff at the Constitution-Tribune as the news editor. In summer 2019, she also began working for the Linn County Leader while maintaining her position in Chillicothe. Before moving to northern Missouri, Angie spent five years as a Public Information Specialist with the Missouri Senate, writing speeches, columns and press releases for members of the Missouri Senate. "I’m excited to be in the Brookfield area and look forward to working with the Chamber, the Board and Member Businesses." Angie lives in the Brookfield area with her boyfriend and three daughters.

Richard T. Steele, Chamber Interim Executive Director
Richard enjoyed a successful 32-year career in the Telecommunications/Cable Television Industry, as Senior Executive with several Cable Television Channels. Currently, in addition to his position with the Chamber, he is also Chairman of Brookfield Downtown Revitalization Committee, is on the Brookfield Park Board, is on the Relay for Life Steering Committee, is a Graduate of the 36/5 Community Alliance Leadership Development Academy, is on the Leadership Task Force, is a weekly contributor to the Linn County Leader, and a volunteer assistant coach with the Brookfield High School Boy's and Girl's Varsity Track Team. Richard has lived in Brookfield for 2 years, having relocated from the Denver, CO area.
