Brookfield, Missouri - “A Great Place to Land!”

February 2009 (Click here to see our member ribbon cuttings!)
"Chamber Chatter"

Happy almost Spring from the Brookfield Chamber. It’s close - real close, & I’m ready. Last week, we received the new 2009 Chariton Valley phone books. We still have plenty of Brookfield maps, visitor’s guides and the new 2009 Missouri Vacation Planner. All FREE of course!!! If you want to stop by the office, remember our office is now located at 101 S. Main Street. You can find us with our new office sign created by chamber member, Steve Yarborough of Steve’s Signs. And last, but certainly not least, Happy 6th Birthday to my granddaughter Kodie!!!

Brookfield’s Recycling Program is Ready, Set, Go. Hope Haven will set up its recycling trailer at the NW corner of the Wal-Mart parking lot from a Wednesday to Wednesday, one week per month. The dates for March are the 11th-18th. A quick rundown of what they can accept in the trailer: Newspaper, cardboard, Mixed paper (cereal boxes, catalogs, etc.), shredded paper (bagged of course), and office paper. #1 & #2 plastic, milk jugs, water bottles, etc. tin cans, aluminum cans & aluminum pie plates. (Please rinse food containers). Also, they will accept clothing, shoes, stuffed animals, purses & belts. Please be sure you have put these in plastic bags so they stay clean. We will have flyers to put on your fridge to help make remembering a little easier. This is very exciting, and I thank both Wal-Mart & Hope Haven for their help in making our community a little bit greener. Also congratulations to Megan Corbin for her successful undertaking to secure a recycling trailer for Marceline. It just keeps getting better!!!
