"Chamber Chatter"
A very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you
all, from the Brookfield Chamber of Commerce. I want to complement how beautiful the old cabin & tree look this holiday season. Santa sat there after the parade listening to the kiddies, and it was a beautiful backdrop for all the pictures being taken. I want to thank Michael & Joy Munsterman for Santa’s goodie bags. The kids loved them!!! The white lights on the Main Street trees were again donated by Wal-Mart, thank
you - thank you… and a special thank you to Charlie & Carl from the Building & Grounds
Department who came to my rescue and hung all those white lights…Charlie has a knack for light hanging as you can tell by his own house decorations on the corner of Livingston & Park. Thank you also to Greg Zahner & his crew (Street Dept.) for getting all the Christmas banners & ornaments hung again this year. Last but not
least... love the lights atop the underpass…excellent!!!
Chamber Lunch was today at “A Step Back in Time” with speaker Kay Malins, representative for the Missouri Hwy 36 Heritage Alliance. New business “Pig Skin BBQ & Pub” will be opening
before the Christmas Holidays. Owner Michael Wessing is another of our hometown, young entrepreneurs, come back to settle in Brookfield. The new Pub has a lot of nostalgia, like the bar stools that used to be in the old Cisco Brown Drug Store/Morgans Market and the swinging door into the kitchen that came from old Ri-Mar’s Master Market. Michael is focusing on a Brookfield Sports theme, so if you have any old pictures or memorabilia to pass along it will have a place of honor!!! Located at 119 E. Brooks next to Doc Pitts office, the Pig Skin BBQ & Pub will be open 7 days a week. To reach them,
call 660-258-2600. (I will always remember this phone number because it was the old # for Graff Trailer Sales for over 40 years.) Michael & his dad, Bob Wessing, have been rebuilding and remodeling the old building since this
summer. You will not believe the remarkable transformation. Oh, it’s also a “No Smoking” facility!!! Yea!!! Ribbon Cutting in a couple weeks. Keep watching!!!
