First Christian
Church... LOOKING TO KNOW GOD BETTER?
You may be frustrated as a Christian because you know God has a more abundant life for you than you are presently experiencing. Or you may earnestly desire God’s directions for your life as you seek to serve Him. Perhaps you have recently experienced tragedy and now you stand bewildered in the middle of a broken life, not knowing what to do next. Whatever your present circumstances, this book and workshop may help you to do the following:
• Believe and experience daily
God's infinite love for you.
• Hear when God is speaking to you.
• Identify God's unmistakable activity in your life.
• Believe Him to be and to do everything He promises.
• Adjust your beliefs, character, and behavior to Him and His ways.
• Identify a direction He is taking in your life, and recognize what He wants to do through you.
• Know clearly how to respond to what He shows you.
• Experience God doing through you what only He can do.
Pastor Ron is offering a 13-week study on Experiencing God on Wednesday evenings from 7-8 pm which will run January 18th-April 11th in the
parlor, and it is open to youth and up. Each participant will need to purchase a workbook (cost $12) and make a commitment to as many sessions as possible. Please call the office at 258-2253 by January 10th to reserve your slot.
Brookfield
Ministries... There will be a Dinner Theater Fundraiser for Brookfield Ministries to be held Friday, April 27, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Park Baptist Fellowship
Center. Tickets are $15.00. The play will be "And So They Had
None" by Robert Alan Ward. Anyone wanting to help, please call Pam Lain at the church at
258-2253. If there is no answer, please leave a message. They need volunteers to perform, work in the kitchen, set-up and take-down, sales, advertising etc.
Great
Northwest Day... It is once again time to start thinking about participation in the Great Northwest Day event. If you are unfamiliar with GNW Day, suffice it to say that it is a great day in which the communities and counties of NW Missouri unify and promote
AWARENESS of the issues we face as a region. It is an effort to influence legislation that will benefit all of NW Missouri
- and the state of Missouri as a whole. This is the 10th year for this collaboration.
GNW Day will take place on January 31. The itinerary for the day includes an introduction of the GNW delegation on the House and Senate floors, a Legislative Luncheon to discuss issues in the Capitol Plaza Ballroom, a group photo in the atrium of the hotel, your choice of 1) legislator visits 2) optional tours 3) educational roundtable discussions, culminating in the GNW Celebration with community booths and a dinner buffet. If you are able to stay overnight, you are encouraged to attend the Regional Breakfast the following morning.
The cost for registration is $60.00 per individual if you register by January
23 - after that it will jump to $85.00, so be sure to register early!! This registration cost includes three meals and the itinerary events mentioned above.
Emphasizing northwest Missouri as a region and highlighting northwest Missouri participating communities and counties is our goal. We hope that you will consider being a part of this effort!!
