Summer Fun Days
Summer Fun Days are held at the beginning of summer and is one of our biggest events of the year. In 2009, they are being held June 4 - June 7. We hope you will stop by and visit us during this busy time!

Farmer’s Appreciation Picnic - July
Every other year, the Chamber of Commerce hosts the annual Farmers Picnic. Next Picnic will be July 2010.

Family Pumpkin Decorating and Carving Contest - Enter your decorated or carved pumpkin in the first annual Pumpkin Contest.
Vote on your favorite pumpkin in the East Twin Park on Saturday. Entry fee is $5, one pumpkin per family; cash prizes to be paid in each category. Prizes awarded for Scariest, Funniest, and Most Original Pumpkin. Contact Angie Wallace at 660-258-3177 for contest rules.

BBQ Preview - A limited number of participants in the BBQ Cook-off will be set up in the park on Friday from Noon until 4:00 P.M., selling samples of their product. No tasting kits will be available during Friday sales.

Beer and Wine Tent 1:00 p.m. to ?? - The beer and wine tent will be available Friday afternoon in the Southeast corner of the East Twin Park. Wine tasting will also be available.

YMCA (North Central YMCA) WALK & RUN 8:00AM - (3 Mile Walk, 3 Mile Run & 5 Mile Run) Sign up 7:30 North side of Twin Parks…$15 in advance or $20 day of event. Call the YMCA @ 258-2388 to sign up.

Baby Show-10:00 a.m. - Registration starts at 9:30 a.m., show starts at 10:00 a.m., $3 entry fee, ages newborn to three years. Contact Tammy @ McLarney Manor 660-258-7402 for contest details. 

Vendors-9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. - Farmers Market Booths/Flea Market Booths/Arts & Crafts Booths/Antique & Garage Sale Booths 
No charge for booth rental, contact Fran Graff at 660-258-7255 for more information or registration.

Pie Contests-11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. - Three categories, including a kids’ pie division, all held at the Gazebo. $5 entry fee or each pie, $25 paid to first place, $10 paid to second place, $5 paid to third. All pies judged on taste and appearance.
11:00 a.m. - 4th ANNUAL PUMPKIN PIE CONTEST
Noon- 5th ANNUAL KIDS APPLE PIE CONTEST
1:00 p.m.-6th ANNUAL APPLE PIE CONTEST

Kiddie Parade- Noon - Push it, pull it, peddle it, or drive it, decorate your favorite kiddie vehicle in a fall or Halloween theme and cruise around the park. Registration starts at 11:30 a.m. near the Gazebo, parade begins at noon. Trophies awarded for First, Second, and Third. Kiddie Parade sponsored by North Missouri Data LLC.

Area Wide Organization BBQ Cook-off and Tasting - Noon - Judging at noon, public tasting starts at 1:00 P.M., buy a tasting kit for $5 and sample until the BBQ is gone. Don’t forget to vote for the Peoples’ Choice winner, a voting chit will be included in the tasting kit. If your club or organization wishes to form a team, contact Paul Rogers (660-349-7516) or Larry Shew (660-258-5497) for registration details, or email brookfieldbbq@att.net.

Beer and Wine Tent- All Day (Open @ Noon) - The beer and wine tent will be available Saturday in the Southeast corner of the East Twin Park. Tent opens at Noon, and will continue to serve throughout the day. Wine tasting will also be available Saturday afternoon.

Kids Games-1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. - Brookfield PTO will be hosting free kids’ games from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Pumpkin walk, washers, and other games for kids 2 and up. All games free of charge.

Chili Cook Off-2:00 p.m. - No Holds barred 7th Annual Chili cook-off, judging to begin at 2:00 p.m. Any Chili ingredients allowed, just bring your entry in a crock pot with ladle. Entry Fee $10 per crock pot, $50 paid to first place, $25 paid to second place, $10 paid to third place. Contact Fran Graff at 660-258-7255 for more information or registration.

Gazebo Entertainment-4:00 p.m. - Tanglefoot Squares will perform in the Gazebo at 4:00 p.m.

Adult Pub Crawl Hayride-4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. - An “Adults Only” event, the hayride will travel between several of the bars, restaurants and clubs. First route will start and 5:00 P.M and last route will start at 8:00 P.M, running in 30 minute intervals. Purchase a $5 armband for unlimited rides during the three hour period.

Street Dance-7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. - Oktoberfest wraps up with a street dance on E. John Street between Main and Linn.

November and December

The 23rd Annual Brookfield Holiday Parade - SATURDAY, DECEMBER 5, 2009
1pm (line-up 12:30pm) @Trinity Methodist Parking Lot
Theme: "My Favorite Christmas Story"

As of early November, we have three Marching Bands, Horse Drawn Wagon full of Elfs, Truck and Howitzer from B Battery, 
1/129th FA in Chillicothe, the VFW Color Guard, Fire Truck & Santa of course!!! Santa will be at Twin Parks after the Parade with Candy for the kids and some additional activities still in the works. Parents can take pictures with the kids and Santa!!! There will be a free movie for the kids one Saturday in December with a food & toy drive. A shop local promotion for the merchants is in the works along with window judging. Please participate... we need floats for the parade & volunteers at the park for kids activities. Call the Chamber Office for any additional info, to sign up for the parade or to help!!!

Tree & Park Lighting Ceremony follows at the Twin Parks immediately after the parade and is hosted by Brookfield Parks and Rec.

Santa House is at the YMCA on December 12, 2009!
